Dravidian University, in the spirit of serving the cause of higher education at international level, established its International Students Cell in the year, 2018. To recall, the sponsorship of ICCR, New Delhi came handy for initiating the journey. The conception and establishment of the International Students Cell has proved to be naturally advantageous to the university as the location of the university being close to the International Air Port, Bangalore and the physical ambience of the university being congenial and peaceful, surrounded by lush green and hilly terrain, consistently having mild temperature throughout the year.
The International Students Cell became functional with the admissions sponsored by ICCR, New Delhi, of Mr. Ryno Settrisman (Indonesia) and Mr. Ndayikengurukiye Eliphase (Burundi) in MA English Programme (2018–20), and Mr. Troy Nicholas Ismond (Guyana) in M.Sc Computer Science Programme. Subsequently, Mr. Sambou L Fatty (Gambia) joined B.Sc Biotechnology (2019–22) and Ms. Algirmaa Balijinnyam (Mongolia) joined the Ph.D. Programme and was awarded her degree in 2024. It is gladdening to record that all international students have successfully completed their studies.
However, presently the provision of admissions under the auspices of the Cell is on hold as ICCR decided during 2020–21 to sponsor students only to NAAC “A” Grade accredited universities. The University is therefore striving to achieve the required NAAC grading to continue its service to International Students.
The following are the successive Coordinators of the International Students Cell: Prof. Ch. A. Rajendra Prasad (2018–2021), Dr. B. Srinivas (2022–23), and Dr. P. Murali Krishan Reddy (till date).
