Introduction
Dravidian University has been at the forefront of advancing higher education, research, and technological innovation. Kuppam, strategically located at the tri-junction of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, serves as a crucial educational hub. In line with the assurance of the Hon'ble Chief Minister and to cater to the needs of the local population amidst a growing demand, this proposal seeks to establish an Engineering College at Dravidian University, initially introducing B.Tech programs in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Computer Science & Engineering with specialization in AI & ML. This initiative aims to address the increasing demand for technical education under self-financing model for the university.

About

The School of Science and Technology comprises four departments which are Department of Computer Science and Technology, Department of Mathematics, Department of Statistics and Department of Library and Information Science to impart research-oriented education and pursue high quality research in emerging areas encompassing Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics and Library and Information Science. The School has developed high-quality teaching programmes at the Undergraduate, Post Graduate and Ph.D. levels such as M.C.A., M.Sc.(Computer Science), M.L.I.Sc., B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Sc. (Data Science), B.Sc. (Mathematics) and Ph.D. with a student–teacher ratio that is favourable for individual attention. The School has a good record of organising seminars, workshops, symposia and conferences in the emerging areas related to Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics and Library and Information Science. The School is acknowledged for its cutting-edge research, excellent teaching and learning activity in an intellectually stimulating environment. It promotes faculty and doctoral research, consultancy, training and outreach activities in various sectors. The curriculum is designed and enriched with industry support and participation. The pedagogy is heavily interactive with a practical orientation, thus helping students in developing their competencies and realizing their full potential to contribute to the industry. The industry has recognized the capability of our students by absorbing them and giving them challenging assignments both nationally and internationally. The School has consistently achieved impressive placement records.

OBJECTIVES

1. Establish a Premier Engineering Institution

2. Launch Industry-Relevant Programs

  • Introduce B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Computer Science & Engineering with specialization in AI & ML to cater to the growing demand for skilled professionals.
  • Align academic curricula with industry requirements, integrating AI, Data Science, Cyber-security, and Cloud Computing.

3. Enhance Employability & Skill Development

  • Provide hands-on training, internships, and industry collaborations to improve job readiness.
  • Establish entrepreneurship and innovation hubs to support student startups and research projects.

4. Promote Research & Development (R&D)

  • Encourage faculty and students to engage in innovative research and technological advancements.

  • Generate revenue through tuition fees, certification programs, and corporate training.

  • Serve students from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, leveraging Kuppam’s tri-junction location.
  • Address the higher education demand in rural and semi-urban regions by providing affordable and high-quality technical education.

7. Integrate Sustainability & Green Initiatives

  • Promote clean energy solutions, including solar-powered infrastructure and eco-friendly campus initiatives.
  • Incorporate sustainable engineering practices in curriculum and research.
