About Department

The Department of Education and HRD has been started in September, 2003 with 7 sanctioned posts (Professor-1; Associate Professor-2; and Assistant Professor-4) from Government of Andhra Pradesh. Initially, two programmes have been started in the year 2003-04, that is, B.Ed., and Telugu Pandit Training (TPT). In the year 2006-07, three more programmes have been added, namely, M.Ed., M.Phil., and Ph.D.

It is one among the very dynamic, vibrant, and lively departments in the University, with high percentage of placements of B.Ed., TPT, and M.Ed., students in Government / Zilla Parishad High Schools, and Private B.Ed. Colleges since 2003-04 batch. A few Ph.D., students have secured employment as Assistant Professors in different Central Universities in different parts of the country.

The Department is equipped with essential academic and infrastructural facilities to support teaching, learning, and research activities.

Library

The Department is provided with a reading room cum library with nearly 150 books relevant to education, making it convenient for students’ reference.

Laboratories

The Department is facilitated with all necessary laboratories as per NCTE norms, including:

• Well-furnished ICT Laboratory with nearly 25 systems and broadband connection.
• Psychology Laboratory with inventories, rating scales and equipment for Educational Psychology.
• Mathematics Laboratory with charts, models and teaching aids.
• Biological Sciences Laboratory with specimens, charts, models and microscopes.
• Physical Sciences Laboratory equipped for Physics and Chemistry practicals.
• Social Sciences Laboratory with facilities for teaching-learning materials.
• Language Sciences Laboratory with charts, literary materials and visual aids.
