The Department of Commerce and Management was started in the academic year 2002-2003 with the modest introduction of 3 year Under Graduate courses in Commerce and Business Management (B.Com & B.B.M). The Department successfully completed instruction to the first two batches of the courses in the year 2005-06 and 2006-07 respectively. Most of the students graduated in these courses got inducted into diverse organizations at different levels of employment. Presently the Department is headed by one permanent faculty in the cadre of Professor and 15 Academic Consultants on contract.

The department follows the model syllabi proposed by the State Council of Higher Education. As regards 5 year M.Com Integrated course, the State Council Syllabi is followed for the 3 years and in the remaining 2 years the syllabi is prepared on the Job Market requirements and social relevance. Thus, making the course more dynamic, challenging and industry suited. In the Andhra Pradesh, a prestigious 5 year Integrated programme in Business Management (M.B.A).

The department is being run with superior skills and knowledge of competent and dynamic staff with Commerce, Management and Economics background. The faculty of Commerce and Management has been rechristened recently as School of Commerce and Management with a full time Dean. The School is also all set to introduce full time and part time Ph.D. Programme in Commerce and Management from the academic year 2008-09. The school is equipped with a spacious Computer Lab with more than 60 Computer Systems + 2 Servers along with LCD Projectors and sufficient furniture and infrastructure. Overall the department is heading towards desirable goals with continues monitoring of students attendance, regular class work and conduct of syllabus with in the stipulated time.
