The School of Comparative Dravidian Literature and Translation Studies was established to explore and celebrate the richness of the five major southern Dravidian languages: Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tulu. Each of these languages is studied in depth within their respective departments. The school includes the Department of English and Communications, which aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of international literature. This integration ensures that students gain a well-rounded education, appreciating both the regional linguistic heritage and the global literary landscape. Through this multidisciplinary approach, the school fosters a deeper appreciation of the diverse linguistic and literary traditions of the Dravidian languages while also equipping students with the skills to engage with literature on an international scale.
