About Department

The Department of Tamil and Translation Studies established in December 2005 with the following aims and objectives:

  1. Developing Tamil Studies in relation to other major languages of the Dravidian family.
  2. Developing modern application of language studies with specific emphasis on the present day job market.
  3. Focus upon the comparative aspects of Dravidian Literature and Heritage.
  4. Imparting special training in translation activity.
