About Department
The Department of Mathematics was established during the academic year 2006-2007 with 2 year PG Course M.Sc.(Mathematics and Computer Applications) and 5-year integrated M.Sc.(Mathematics and Computer Applications) course. The course content contains foundation subjects in Mathematics and subjects related to Computer Applications. The department specializes in the fields of Algebra, Analysis, Differential Equations, Graph Theory etc. The department has been updating the syllabus periodically keeping in mind the rapid changes taking place in Science and Technology. As a part of this, the department has recently brought out radical changes in the syllabus by introducing Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).
The alumni of this department occupied high positions in teaching spread over India. At present, the department is being run with academic consultants. Many of the experienced faculty from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati are being invited to deliver guest lectures in the department. The department is offering some subjects as external electives for the students of other departments of Dravidian University. This department is presently offering the following Programme.
Board Of Studies
From the academic year (2013-2014) Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) is introduced in all departments of the University. According to this system the M.Sc. Mathamatics Programme requires a student to earn 100 credits in four semesters. The Board of Studies in Mathamatics is approved course structure and CBCS syllabus of M.Sc. Mathamatics Programme for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th semester on 20th November 2019.
