Vision
Contextualizing Kannada language and literature in relation to other Dravidian languages is the motivating force of the Department. Through translation and cross-cultural studies the Department underscores the commonalities of the South Indian languages and literature.
Mission
The Department endeavours to enrich Kannada Studies in the background of Dravidology and with an emphasis on Comparative Perspective. Exploring the Unexplored, either in the field of literature or translation is the guiding spirit of the Department.
